1. Overview
There are two types of American packaged kiosk substation: one with operation passage(operators can operate inside packaged substation), one without operation passage(operators operate outside packaged substation). American kiosk substation can be one complete shell, and can also consists of two, three or more boxes. The shell should have enough mechanical strength so that it will not deformed during transportation and installation. The appearance will be beautiful, the color should be matched with the environment. The shell is high and there should be lights inside the low voltage chamber. There are THREE PREVENTIONS: prevent dewing, prevent salt spray and prevent mould. The humidity inside high voltage chamber and low voltage chamber should be less than 90% （25℃）. The ventilation inside should be well and the shell should have device to prevent the sun, rain, rust, small animals from entering or take measures to prevent.
Combined American kiosk substation consists of transformer, HV load switches, fuses and other elements which are immersed in oil. The structure of packaged substation is compact which is easy to install. American kiosk substation is fully insulated, sealed, safe, reliable, easy to operate and maintenance-free. The applications of American kiosk substation are: civil buildings, high-rise center, mining enterprises, airport, bus station, schools and so on.
2. Characteristics
1. Overload capacity of American kiosk substation is strong which allows two times overload or 2 hours, 1.6 times for 7 hours and the service life will not be influenced.
2. Use elbow joint which is convenient for the connection of HV incoming cable and can be used as load switch during emergency. It can be plug-in and withdraw with power.
3. Adopt double fuse protection. Plug-in fuse is double sense fuse( temperature, current) to protect secondary side of substation transformer from short-circuit fault. Backup current limit protection fuse is used to prevent inner fault of packaged substation and protect HV side.
4. For the transformer, use high burning point oil.
5. The fuses and other elements used to protect HV load switch and iron core, windings are in the same oil tank.
